We at the Department of Textile Design of Tama Art University are pleased to exhibit the outcome of our efforts this year in our university-industry collaborative project with Hachioji Textile Industrial Association.
Each of the four teams chose one from among different woven patterns of the world and traced the roots of the pattern structured by crossing of warp and weft. The students explored the patterns from their own points of view and created the new designs through the process of composing them again. We hope you would enjoy looking at our new pieces of textile neckwear created in collaboration with the local weaving mills in Hachioji. |
