IRIS CO., LTD. / SHANGHAI IRIS GARMENT ACCESSORIES CO., LTD.

Responding to market changes

On this occasion, IRIS CO., LTD. / SHANGHAI IRIS GARMENT ACCESSORIES CO., LTD. mark their tenth participation in the Japan Pavilion. The feedback after joining the spring edition in March was also positive: ‘We had many buyers at our booth and could negotiate with new customers. The timing was perfect for fabric selection - it was precisely the planning season for spring/summer.’

They further comment as follows: ‘We see a growing sense of product value among consumers, which generates increasing demand for higher quality products in the China market. In other words, quality and value are prevailing over price, which we consider a good thing.’ And continuing on a positive note: ‘Although China is not an easy market, with Chinese accessory makers greatly improving via local brands, we intend to respond swiftly to changes in the China market.’

Their advantage is an abundant inventory stockpile of 300,000 pcs., including 6,000 product types and allowing scope for small-lot orders, which appeal to buyers. They will showcase newly developed Japan-made (vintage) buttons for ladieswear alongside sustainability-related items on this occasion.

  UNI TEXTILE CO., LTD.

Sales from a single roll at their own risk

UNI TEXTILE CO., LTD., a repeat exhibitor in the Intertextile Shanghai shows since 2004, acclaimed the feedback received after they participated in the March fair; ‘Thanks to cooperation by local staff and agents, we concluded numerous successful negotiations with many buyers during the show, which proved a lively and successful edition. We also had many sample pick-ups which spawned further negotiations. The Chinese sales force, centred on EC business, is equally remarkable and has turned old-fashioned approaches on their head, which has stabilised planning or the need for additional manufacturing throughout the season. In this context, our stockpile system, featuring multicoloured and wide-ranging products, plus small-lot service, is greatly acclaimed.’

The range to be showcased this time round will feature mélange-like polyester jacquard lace with a profound and layered tonality, with multicoloured dyeing eliciting a three-dimensional impression alongside a soft and thickish texture. Soft-stretch cardboard knit, conversely, is made with soft-touch and high-multi-fibres. Meanwhile, the chambray vintage taffeta offers stand-out surface quality; vintage-treated after dyeing chambray in a range of colours, all stocked at the company’s own risk and offered from a single roll.

SUZUKI BLEACH & DYEING CO., LTD.

Finishing techniques applied by European maisons

SUZUKI BLEACH & DYEING CO., LTD. will continue its participation in the Intertextile Shanghai for a second time since March. Although the company already had export business with China, they decided to join the March fair due to overseas travel restrictions imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The result was positive with new clients acquired and with further growth in the China market anticipated, they decided to continue taking part, assisted by local agents on a short-term basis. They see order volumes increasing as well as new customers coming on board.

The company is highly acclaimed as a finishing-specialised company representing Japan and retaining a globally unique finishing technique widely applied by renowned European maisons. Reflecting their policy of quality over quantity, they excel at finishing techniques for original textures with cotton, linen, rayon and silk in particular; retaining original and functional finishing. Their swift delivery as a finishing company has also been acclaimed.

Their range will centre on brushed (raised) items and cotton wool and cotton-silk fabrics, alongside those with new finishes and a fluffy cotton texture.

  Teenfeng

Yarn-dyed silk-cotton organza

Teenfeng will participate in the autumn edition, following their March debut. They are satisfied with the previous show, which allowed them to cultivate new customers and target further successful results to gain more clients in a China market with great potential.

Highlights this time include yarn-dyed silk-cotton organza, for an uneven and crispy touch, alongside cupro-based prints and targeting buyers who need Japan fabrics.

They have been specialising in production based on Chinese silk fabrics/garments and supplying Chinese white silk and silk prints, as well as small batches of plain-dyed fabrics. They can also handle the demand for garments, thanks to cooperative sewing factory lines. Their strength lies in a super-efficient and fused system; planning and finishing in Japan using Chinese fabrics and/or processing Japanese fabrics in China, depending on the purpose/demand.

  NIKKE TEXTILE CO., LTD.<New Exhibitor>

Promoting achievements built in Europe

NIKKE TEXTILE CO., LTD. will mark their debut in the Intertextile Shanghai, anticipating continued growth in the China market, including its developing inland cities. It is a huge market, comprising 17% of the global population. They are equally keen to participate and confirm ‘whether Japanese worsted wool fabrics can be competitive and accepted by Chinese apparel’.

On this occasion, they will be presenting an almost globally unrivalled item: piece-dyed worsted wool, alongside ZQ Merino wool series (traceability-certified wool originating from New Zealand) and a vintage series, supervised by a textile designer and two-time winner of the Première Vision Award.

They have high expectations of their initial appearance, underpinned by their strengths, which include an integrated production system across the board, from spinning to dyeing and finishing, scope for planning and development, a sales base in Shanghai and an in-house production facility at Qingdao, China, all bolstered by long-nurtured and trusted business records with European luxury brands.

  MARUSA CO., LTD.<New Exhibitor>

Showcasing products including Mino-washi (Mino paper)

MARUSA CO., LTD. is also a new Intertextile Shanghai exhibitor, aiming to cultivate new customers despite their local subsidiary; MARUSA (SHANGHAI) TRADING CO., LTD. in China. Their advantages include the ability to plan and design staple textiles nurtured in the Bishu region, wide-ranging textile converting ability leveraging the production background of Toray Group and proposal capabilities thanks to a total production system, starting from a single thread to sewn products.

On this occasion, they will showcase items centring on Mino-washi fabrics made from a raw material of Japanese paper originating from Mino City in Gifu Prefecture and dating back 1,300 years. It is an ecological and comfortable fabric, with lightweight and deodorising properties, naturally anti-viral, moisture-absorbing and heat-dissipating. Other line-ups include especially post-processed fabric using FD (fully dull), modified cross-section polyester-spun fibre, which retains a cotton-like texture excelling in UV protection and easy-care due to its synthetic nature, alongside a unique two-way stretch fabric with a blend of hollow-polyester/rayon, which provides bulkiness, excellent heat retention and comfortable stretchability.
